Celebrating Ten Years of Mum and Baby Classes

Ten years ago I trained to teach mum and baby yoga with the wonderful Marion O’Connor at Birthlight https://birthlight.com

It was the birth of Breathing Space Yoga.

Here are my lovely colleagues and I’m still in touch with a few of them.

On 7th May 2013 I taught my first Mum and Baby Yoga class with these gorgeous mums and babies at Weaverham Children’s Centre. (and one other mum and baby not pictured).

It was the start of my yoga teaching career and what a lovely way to start!

These babies are now 10 years old! I have managed to make contact with three out of the five and Jenn and Tina have kindly sent these fabulous pics of themselves with their not so little ones ten years on. It has been lovely to reconnect and revisit my first ever classes, and to see how everyone is thriving.

I am delighted to still be teaching mums and babies (Dads and Grandparents too!) and amazed to realise I have taught about 600 babies in the last ten years!!!

In 2018 I trained to teach Baby Massage with To Baby and Beyond and have welcomed many mums, dads and babies to massage class since then.

Below you will find some of the photos I have taken from each year that I have been teaching. Some years I have taken more photos, and others not so many.

I've never interrupted classes too much to take photos. When I'm teaching I am focussed on what I'm doing and not wanting/thinking about stopping to interrupt the flow of the room. So end of term has become photos day over the years!

I don't have photos of all classes or attendees but please do get in touch if spot yourself or not. If you took your own photos in class, I'd love to see them. In the coming weeks I will be sharing these pics on my social media, so look out for them and feel free to tag yourselves or others in the posts, and share your 2023 photos of your not so little ones – it would be lovely to re-connect.

One of the things I love the most about my classes is the friendships that are made in class. I'd love to hear who you are still in touch with and how you are doing.

A huge thank you to everyone who has come along to my classes over the past ten years.

It’s still a privilege to spend time each week with new parents and babies, supporting their well-being, their growing bond and facilitating time for them to connect to other new parents and babies.

Here’s my tenth Anniversary Mums and Babies:

Here’s to another ten years of joyful yoga classes!
