Learn to Meditate - Meditation Courses in Northwich

Meditation Course in Northwich
Life is now, not when or if. Turn up and be present otherwise you will miss it.
— Mick Timpson, Senior Yoga Teacher, CEO beanddo

Meditation helps you to be in the present moment. That’s where life really is - not in the busy mind of our thoughts which can be overwhelming and unhelpful at times. We learn to use our thoughts in our meditation and positively change our relationship to them. Once our mind settles we are able to gain more clarity, calm and this helps us to live our lives with more ease.

My meditation course will give you simple accessible tools to begin a regular meditation practice. Explore what meditation is, how it works and why everyone can do it. Build up your meditation practice gradually, to become an easy-to-achieve regular part of your day to day life. You will have the skills to meditate anytime, anywhere by the end of the course.

Why Meditation is for you…

If you’ve heard lots about meditation – in yoga class, from friends, celebrities and in the media. You have an idea that people do it because it brings them wellbeing and helps their mental health. That it can reduce stress and overwhelm, can help sleep issues and that seems like something you could definitely benefit from.

BUT

You don’t know where to start, you know that your mind can’t stop thinking and you don’t want to sit cross legged on the floor with a group of other people who seem to know what they are doing.

OR

Maybe you’ve had a go at doing some meditation but you’ve no idea if you’ve been doing it right, you’re not sure how or what you should be feeling while you are doing it.

OR

You’ve done meditation before and couldn’t get a regular practice going, or have lost your regular practice. It was really beneficial and you’d like to get back into it again.

OR

Maybe you have been meaning to try meditation for a while and now is the time.

If any of these things seem familiar (or you have other reasons) then my course could be just the thing and I’d love you to join us.

What happens in each session?

My sessions include theory, guided practice, and group discussion. The aim is for you to learn techniques to practice at home and quickly establish a simple regular practice that you can integrate into your daily life easily and without adding more stress or ‘to do’s’.

  • you will sit comfortably in an upright chair

  • I will facilitate a warm, welcoming and safe space for our group to explore meditation together and support each other as we progress

  • you will learn what meditation is, how it works, its benefits and how to create a regular practice

  • you will meditate – we will explore how this feels, what you should do or not do in meditation by doing it and sharing our experiences – the only way to learn how to meditate confidently is to practice it.

  • you will learn to work with the thoughts that are a natural and pretty much constant presence in your mind.

My Meditation Journey

Like you, a few years ago I wanted to find out more about meditation. I wanted to dive deep into what meditation is, how it works, what its benefits are and how I could employ them more regularly in my own daily life as a mum, with a busy schedule of teaching yoga, the requirements of running a home with my husband and running my business.

I embarked on a teacher training course with Mick Timpson of beanddo and loved the meditation techniques I learned – simple to follow, accessible for everyone and you really can use them in your day to day life whatever your schedule and commitments.

I am using my learning everyday, I enjoy time to just ‘be’ to sit, meditate and feel spacious, brighter, more connected to the world around me and everything within it, including everything I have to ‘do’. Regular meditation practice is making a huge difference to my life. It is helping me to find the spaces, the brightest moments and the calm that I need as a wife, mum, teacher and lover of life. I have learned to be flexible with my meditation, often sitting but also using the things I need to ‘do’ as meditations in themselves. I work my practice around my family and work life in an easy and effortless way.

I have been teaching meditation ever since in my classes in Northwich and also online.

From course feedback and the learning and change I see happening as I teach, I am so happy to be helping more people to find this space, to untangle from the busyness and pressures of life in the society we find ourselves in.

The course has helped me grasp what meditation is about and introduce it regularly into everyday life. It’s brought relaxation, clarity and happiness into some aspects of my life and promises to continue to do so.

What is Meditation?

Meditation is not mind control, once learned it takes no effort, you are not stopping thinking, more changing your relationship to thinking… There’s a cognitive shift where you realise you are not your thoughts, which helps avoid rumination and getting caught up in other unhelpful thoughts.
— Mick Timpson

If you think you can't meditate because you can't empty your mind of thoughts think again!  We learn to use our thoughts in our meditation and positively change our relationship to them.

Your mind is active in order for you to navigate your daily life safely and productively. But your mind also brings with it a lot of stories, ideas, what if’s and maybe’s. It may be impossible to empty your mind, but you can find some space to step back.

Meditation can help you to discern the important activity of the mind from the less important.

The beanddo meditation techniques are aimed at helping you to equip yourself with the tools to access your inner resources of creativity and resilience to support your daily life. With sustained practice this can transform your life.

We learn to become more connected to our body, breath and mind which allows you to feel more present and know a deeper more profound state of awareness.

Meditation can be described as the conscious, purposeful attention of your mind and body towards the present moment. That’s it. You can read about meditation from a book or download the latest app. The real benefits of meditation are in the doing of it, with other people and with a good and experienced teacher. Meditation has been taught like that for 1000’s of years.

I have really enjoyed the meditation course with Sarah. It would benefit anyone interested in learning about meditation or bringing back to life past meditation practices.
