Baby Massage classes are gentle, caring, fun, safe places for mums (or dads!) to enjoy an uninterrupted hour or so with their baby without the worries and concerns of day to day life. Classes are designed so that parents can learn a head to toe Baby Massage routine which promotes loving touch and builds confidence in handling, understanding and bonding with baby.

In addition classes include gentle yoga movement, stretches, breath and pelvic floor work to help new mums to ease out tensions, and relax. This is great for dads too!

Classes also include simple Baby Yoga movements which are a great follow on to Baby Massage and a good foundation for joining Mum and Baby Yoga classes.

  • In class you will learn to massage your baby’s chest and tummy, legs and feet, arms and hands, backs, head and face.

You will learn the benefits that each of the strokes brings for your baby.

  • You will receive video resources to help you use the massage techniques at home and share with your partner or other caregivers.

  • Postnatal yoga focuses on shoulders, upper back, lower back, and core, integrating Birthlight Yoga’s deep pelvic floor toning and ‘core strength’ micro-movements to bring your body gently back to alignment, closing those overworked areas after pregnancy and birth. Breathing and relaxation techniques will help you to re-balance, rejuvenate and re-energise for life with a new baby. Yoga poses and movements are given at varying levels to suit each individual and to support your journey in recovering strength and tone in a safe yet challenging way. We work on gentle progression over the first 6 months postnatal to avoid long term problems of joint instability and hypermobility. This leads to a secure transition to stronger poses after 6 months and rejoining general yoga or other exercise classes.

  • Although it is usually mums who come along, dads, grandparents and carers are welcome. Please note that this class is not suitable for crawling babies.

It is an ancient art that connects you deeply with the person who is your baby, and it helps you to understand your baby’s particular non-verbal language and respond with love and respectful listening. It empowers you as a parent, for it gives you the means by which you become an expert on your own child and therefore can respond according to your baby’s unique needs.

I am passionate about the benefits that Baby Massage can bring to babies and parents. My classes bring some useful ways to support life with a baby and aim to create a calm and soothing environment for you and your baby to bond and be absorbed only in each other. We sing songs and have fun with our babies sharing lots of smiles. All massage strokes support your baby’s development stage and can be used at any time for a bit of calmness in a busy day.

Classes are very sociable, no previous yoga experience is necessary.

Classes are baby-led. Feeding, changing and soothing are all part of the flow of the class as each baby requires.

Really great course to learn valuable techniques for relaxation, one to one contact with baby, and fun new things to try. We use the massage techniques with our bedtime routine every day and it really helps to prepare him for a nice long sleep.
