Medical Advice and Cautions:

  • Before starting a yoga class check with your doctor and teacher if you have any concerns about your health. Be sure to tell your teacher about any concerns or physical limitations you may have.

  • If you are pregnant, tell your teacher, so they can modify postures for you. Avoid postures that put pressure on the uterus. Pregnant ladies will be asked to join a pregnancy class rather than an adult classes.

  • When you practice yoga postures listen to yourself and your body, respect its individuality and limitations and have confidence in your own sense of right and wrong. Do not continue any movement that causes you discomfort or pain.

  • It is not always easy in the beginning but gradually the yoga will increase your sensitivity and self-awareness. While some stiffness may occur after the first classes, you should not feel pain.

  • If you are menstruating certain asanas (postures) are not suitable so please consult your teacher if you are unsure. It is recommended to omit inverted postures during menstruation (e.g. shoulder and head stands).

  • Avoid comparing yourself with anyone else; yoga is about celebrating individuality and working with your own strengths and weaknesses. Yoga is not a competitive practice! So be content with what you can achieve.

  • If you are unwell you should not attend class.

  • Your teacher may choose to adjust students during the class. Please let the teacher know if you do not wish to be adjusted.

  • Yoga should always be practised in bare feet to prevent slipping.

  • Do not eat a heavy meal less than two hours before the yoga practice. You can have a small snack such as fruit closer to your practice.

  • At the end of the yoga practice we do a relaxation pose. Put on some extra clothes, socks and/or a blanket so you don't get cold.

  • If you experience emotional reactions during or after the yoga practice – welcome and accept the emotions. If you like you can talk it over with your teacher.

  • If know you can't make a class or are going to be late, please do call or text before class to let the teacher know.
